We have come a long way on our path to success. Let’s take a moment to rewind to my days at the BBC bureau in Buenos Aires, where I covered a vast region in South America.

Back in 2002, I initially started as a part-time assistant for a BBC Correspondent.  As the years passed and correspondents changed, my responsibilities at the BBC bureau expanded, along with my skills in fixing.

Thanks to my efficiency, journalists began recommending me to other BBC crews when filming in Argentina. That way, I ended working on projects with talents such as Monty Don,  Gary Lineker and Maradona.

In 2009, sensing the forthcoming changes in mass media corporations, I took a leap of faith and established Fixer Argentina. Juggling between my job and this independent venture was challenging, but fortune smiled upon me when I met Gert De Saedeleer. Gert contributed immense value to the startup, enabling Fixer Argentina to become a full-time endeavor. Eventually, I bid farewell to the BBC and dedicated myself entirely to our enterprise alongside Gert and our cat, Junior.

Since those early days, we have experienced tremendous growth and assembled an incredible team. However, finding the right people was not easy – it never is. We required professionals with both outstanding technical skills and a deep understanding of the standards set by international media organizations, considering the significant differences in local working styles.

In the face of difficult situations, we have been fortunate to meet extraordinary individuals who remain part of our extended family. For instance, Emiliano Monsegur from Quetzal came to our aid during a big documentary project on freestyle football for YouTube. The original local sound engineer provided by the international crew was a disaster, prompting us to seek a replacement. After numerous calls and recommendations, we stumbled upon Emi, who has been working with us since then.

Edgar Espinoza, our exceptional technical department chief, first caught our attention when he brought in a gimbal we rented. Not only is he a top-notch gimbal operator, but his organizational skills as a camera assistant and DoP make him invaluable. Edgar has become a key member of our crew for any project.

Tomas Ridilenir, a talented DoP and director, was introduced to us by Edgar. Tomas elevated our filming capabilities and fueled our creativity. Although he now resides in Berlin, he continues to collaborate with us on different projects.

In 2018, our team was composed of skilled sound technicians and creative individuals, but we felt the need for a production assistant who matched our high standards. Unexpectedly, our search led us to Delfina D’Arminio. Impressed by her during the interview, we decided to offer her the job. Just a month after she started, the global pandemic hit and we found ourselves in a prolonged lockdown. However, we retained Delfina and redefined her role until the situation returned to normal. It was a decision well worth it, as Delfi has proven herself an exceptional PA and has now even become a fixer.

In addition to our dedicated team, we are fortunate to collaborate with Paula Orlando, an accomplished Executive Producer with a wealth of experience in commercials and feature films. Paula seamlessly integrates with our team, elevating the quality of our work to new heights whenever her expertise is called upon for a project.

Lastly but not least, we would like to mention Agustin Barrigo, also known as “el Guaso,” our dedicated drone operator who has just passed away peacefully while sleeping in Cuba. Yes, we are still in shock and sad! Agus used to fly to meet us for every single project, displaying top-notch skills. He will be hard to replace.

We are proud of our crew for many reasons, but most importantly because we work together seamlessly, making your story possible. Let’s raise a toast to our collaborative success.
